What’s the best way to accept donations or gifts from people online for digital media?
If I’ve made digital stuff, like ringtones, themes, or icons; what’s the best way to accept donations for the things I’ve made? I’ve ruled out trying to sell them for a price, because one problem with selling digital media online is that once someone has bought it, there’s really no stopping that person from sharing it with the rest of the world! And if I make, for example: a ringtone from a movie’s theme song; can I accept donations only for my labor, and not the digital content itself? And to make things a little more complicated…
I’m the owner of an LLC in Missouri that’s taxed as a corporation. Does this have an impact on all of this as well, or not?

The IRS likes checks. They can be traced and they have to be signed to be cashed. So accept personal checks as donations..
