What is better The SINGLE VCR PLAYER RECORDER and the SINGLE DVD PLAYER RECORDER, or the COMBO VCR PLAYER RECO
I want to convert some videos to dvd’s. I have a VCR PLAYER RECORDER. If I purchase a DVD PLAYER RECORDER. Can I connect them to each other for the conversion process? And what hardware would I need to do this?

weather you have a combo or two standalone units copying VHS to DVD or DVD to VHS will not work in most cases due to macrovision on Video cassetes and encryption on DVD’s that disable you from doing just that If they are home movies or not copyrighted materials you can copy them all you would need to do i connect the two together using RCA patch cables. If you are recording a DVD to a VHS then connect the DVD players output to the VCR input. If your are recording VHS to DVD then connect the VCR output to the DVD input most DVD recorders will see the macrovision signal coming from the VCR and will not even allow you to record as it locks that feature if you are trying to record a coprighted and copy protected movie. If you want VHS on DVD i’d use the computer purchase a video capture card connect the vcr to the computer and then capture the video to your hard drive then use a program like Nero vision express to convert and burn that as a DVD
