How do you?/ What software is needed? to get a video from my camcorder onto a PC and ultimately onto a DVD?
Samsung Camcorder, records onto digital tape, has an s-video plug (not really sure what that is anyway)

If that camcorder is digital and uses miniDV tape, you will need a firewire/IEEE1394/i.Link cable to connect it to your computer – and your computer needs a firewire/IEEE1394/i.Link port.
If the camcorder is analog, you need that s-video cable (for video) and the AV cable (for audio). You will also need an analog/digital bridge like the Pinnacle Dazzle or one of the good ones from Canopus.
Since we don’t know what computer or operating system you are using, it is a bit tough… Windows has MovieMaker for import and edit… then WinDVD for burning DVDs. Macintoshes have iMovie for import and edit… then iDVD for burning DVDs.
U need Roxio Media Suite. Put the dvd in the tray start the programme , connect the camera and click make dvd on the fly. thats it. the camera plays and it automATICALLY writes the dvd in real time. This is just for beginers. It has amazing possibilities.
