can you correct distorted audio with a dvd recorder?

I have a dvd recorder vhs combo, can I correct distorted audio from the vhs with the dvd recorder recordingfrom vhs to dvd? the model that I have is a JVC MV5S.

Not if the distortion is in the recoding, and if it’s not your player is damaged or malfunctioning.
